TypePad + iPad
Update: TypePad now works very nicely on the iPad:
Even though Safari on iPad doesn’t support the technologies that make Rich Text editing or file uploading possible, TypePad makes it easy to create posts, read your friends’ updates, and manage your blog from your iPad.
How?

Live for all iPads on Thursday if there aren't any issues. :)

Yup! Hang in there! :)

It's pretty good but my find picture button doesn't work...almost there! Is there a way around it?
Posted by Everyone's Travel Club on April 26, 2010 at 7:41 PM
I suspect the button you're trying to use brings up a file browser which, unfortunately, isn't supported by Safari on the iPad or the iPhone. That was actually what I was "bummed" about in the original post. If/when Apple hooks up that type of input, I'll make sure TypePad takes advantage of it.

Walt, So I thought I'd get around the lack of the typepad photo uploader on my iPad and just upload the pictures on my desktop, then add the writing later on my iPad...only problem is...Typepad for iPad won't let me type in a blog post...have you tried to make a new post on the iPad and run into the same problem?
Posted by Everyone's Travel Club on May 4, 2010 at 10:48 PM
Yup. The iPad doesn't support the rich text editor but the plain text editors work just fine. To switch, just tap the HTML tab on the editor. If you want to use one of the other editors just tap the tab again to see a menu.

Walt, I bought an iPad and really feel that a working wysiwyg editor is a big miss.
(I run 8 blogs on typepad). Do you have any suggestions ?

I hope that Apple provides better support for the technologies that make WYSIWYG editing possible in future versions of Safari for iPhone OS. But until then, I'd recommend using TypePad's plain text editor to compose posts in Convert Line Breaks mode or Markdown (my personal favorite).

I can't figure out how to do any decent editing of my type pad blogs on the iPad. The rich text view of the editor disappears and then the the HTML just runs off the screen. Worse the iPhone app is incredibly weak and there's no proper iPad version.
Honestly, six apart should be embarassed by this. What the heck are they waiting for.

Is there any hope for updates or new TypePad apps on Apple devices?
We just need:
1) Ability to change font and font size
2) Ability to add pictures (more than 5 like on the iphone app, can't do it on TypePad for ipad regular site)
3) Ability to put text below or above pics
4) Ability to fill in the excerpt and keywords
Pretty please:) I'll pay to upgrade my TypePad blog if you guys can get it done!

The best place to provide feedback for the apps is on TypePad's support page at Get Satisfaction. Thanks! :)
